Common Questions
How much does landscaping cost in Greater Boston?
It depends entirely on scope, and anyone who quotes you a number over the phone is guessing. Maintenance programs are priced per visit against property size and what the visit includes. Design and installation work is priced against the plan. What we can promise is an itemized proposal with real numbers rather than vague allowances that grow later — and a free on-site visit to produce it.
Do you work with HOAs, condo associations and property managers?
Yes, and a significant share of our work is exactly that. Multi-property management needs predictable scheduling, one point of contact, current insurance certificates on file, and someone who turns up after a storm without being chased. We also cover snow and mattress recycling, which means fewer vendors on your list.
Do you do the work yourselves or subcontract it?
Our own crews do the work. That is the reason we can promise the same team at your property each visit, and it is why the person who designed your beds is reachable when you have a question about them in year three.
Weekly or bi-weekly — which do I need?
Weekly through the growing season for most Greater Boston lawns, and it is not an upsell. In May and June a healthy lawn puts on enough growth in fourteen days that cutting it back to a proper height breaks the one-third rule badly, and repeated scalping is what produces the shallow-rooted lawn that browns in July. Bi-weekly genuinely works in the slow stretches, on lawns that grow slowly, or on properties where a slightly rougher look is fine. We will tell you which you need at the estimate.
When should a fall cleanup actually happen in Greater Boston?
Once the bulk of the drop is down but before the ground freezes — realistically late October through early December depending on your tree mix. Oaks are the complication: they hold their leaves far later than maples, so a property with mature oaks often needs a visit in late November or even December. Waiting for absolutely every leaf is a mistake, because you end up raking under snow. If your load is heavy we will often split it into two visits, which costs less than the reseeding you would otherwise be paying for in April.
Seasonal contract or per-event — which should I take?
It is a question about risk, not price. A seasonal contract is a fixed number you can put in a budget in September and forget; in a heavy winter you come out ahead, in a mild one you have paid for insurance you did not need. Per-event tracks actual snowfall, which is cheaper in a quiet year and open-ended in an active one. Condos, HOAs and commercial properties that answer to a budget usually take seasonal. We will tell you which suits your property rather than pushing the one that suits us.
